Or so I thought... (Jan 27th)

Hello Family and Friends!

Alright so I am pretty sure I say the same thing just about every week in these emails but..... It was another great week here on St. Simons Island! Heavenly Father has been extremely good to me this week! I can't even find the proper words to express just how good He has been to me.

Before coming out on my mission I thought I had a pretty strong testimony. I thought I had a pretty good relationship with my Heavenly Father. I thought I had a solid understanding about His love for each of His children. BUT... I was completely wrong. Oh how little I knew and how little I had (and still have) experienced!

Heavenly Father has shown me things I never thought were possible. Heavenly Father has stretched me in ways I didn't know I could be stretched. Heavenly Father has carried me more than I ever thought He would be willing to. Heavenly Father has helped me understand things that I never thought I would be able to understand.

One thing is for certain, Heavenly Father can do more with our lives than we will ever be able to do with it ourselves IF we will rely on Him and put our trust in Him. My wish is that everyone will rely on Him a little bit more and put just a little bit more trust in Him this week. He is ready and willing to help us! We just have to rely on Him and put our trust in Him. I love you all so much! And so does Heavenly Father! Thank you all for your support! You're the best :)

Become like new (from Jan 20th)

Hello Family and Friends!

Crazy week here on the Island! Things are going great and I am still continuing to learn so much. The Lord really is finding great ways to teach me new things :)

One of my favorite experiences from this week was watching The Restoration with a less active member in our ward. I was on trade-offs but watching that movie was just what I needed and I have no doubt in my mind that is why I just happened to be on a trade off that day! Anyways, we watched the full length movie and I, along with the less-active member, had a wonderfully uplifting experience.

The Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the "why" to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is a church BECAUSE of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If it weren't for the restoration, we would all still be living in spiritual darkness! The wonderful thing is that we don't have to live in spiritual darkness anymore because the truth has been revealed to us once again. The sad thing is that many people do not know this. BUUTTTTT another wonderful thing is that we are able to find out for ourselves if the Gospel of Jesus Christ has truly been restored to the Earth! How great is that? We have the ability to pray and ask our Heavenly Father if that is true. What a wonderful opportunity! This is a question that I have asked Heavenly Father many of times and each time the answer has always come back the same. Have YOU prayed to know if these things are true? If not, I dare you to :)

I know that God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and I know that because of Joseph Smith faithfulness we are able to partake of the blessings of the Gospel. I know that Heavenly Father lives and loves us! I know that through the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we all can become like new. I love you all and am so grateful for all your love and support!

Until Next Time,

The Gift of Giving (from Jan 13th)

Hello Family and Friends!

This is going to be short, but it was a wonderful week! Thursday was our first full day back on St. Simons Island and we have been busy giving service. Being able to help others with random things has seriously brought me so much joy! It's also made me wonder why I wasn't always filled with joy when my mom or dad would ask me to do something around the house....I'm definitely going to figure that one out.... But really, I am seeing that giving service to others is one of the greatest things we could be doing with our time. I find that as I give service to others, I feel better about myself and my ability to love others around me increases. It's a crazy thing but it certainly amazing! I am so grateful that I have the ability to give of myself and I know that I have taken that for granted a lot in my life, as we all do at times... So lets take a stand together and pledge to give more service to our family and friends! It will most certainly help us personally and collectively if we do so! Thanks to everyone for your love and support! I love you all so much!

Until Next Week,

Sister Crawford

No longer MIA (from Jan 7th)

Friends and Family-

First off, I have apologize for being so MIA lately and not writing to you all. P-day is a busy day and we can't seem to find enough hours in the day! But- I am back for good. (Hopefully!)

Second off, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! I know I did! Lots of things have been different the last few weeks so I will do my best to catch everyone up :)

On the 27th of December my companion and I were put into a trio with Sister Ashcraft from Idaho. So for the last about 2 weeks we have been working with the three of us. I has been so much FUN and we have seen a lot of progress in such a short time!

Sadly, the trio will be split up tomorrow because Sister Ashcrafts new companion will be coming in. That is okay though! Sister Conley and I are excited to get back to the Island and start working there again!

We had a pretty exciting week with teaching and finding! Sister Ashcraft has been working with a women for quite some time and this past week she was interviewed by President Craig. We were expecting that her papers would take a few months to come back from SLC her papers are ALREADY back and she is okayed to be baptized! This women as been through so much and has put so much faith in Heavenly Father over the last 6 months of her life and soon, she is going to be able to enter into the waters of baptism. Working with her for these past two weeks has reconfirmed to me that the Gospel of Jesus Christ truly is for everyone and anyone. No matter who you are, no matter what you have done, no matter what anyone thinks about you, the Gospel is for YOU. It has been so amazing to see the Atonement change this women and her life.

As my very first transfer comes to a close, I have loved looking back at the last 6 weeks. They have been amazingly hard and amazingly wonderful. I have learned so much and grown so much. More than I ever thought possible! I have seen so many miracles, both small and large, and have seen a mighty change in people around me and in myself.

On paper, the results of the last 6 weeks might not look like much, but when the results of the last 6 weeks are put into eternal perspective, they are great and marvelous. They are priceless. It is really easy to get caught up in the worldly things of life and in numbers and in popularity, but at the end of the day, that is not what really matters. It is about how we treat others and what we give back to the God that gave us everything we have. Those are the things that really, truly matter.

I love you all so much and am so grateful for all the support and love you all offer me. Thank you again.

Until Next Time, Sister Crawford
